NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINEPursuant to Application Number 848 8060In accordance with KRS 350.070, notice is hereby given that Dixie Fuel Company, LLC., PO Box 269, US 421 South, Grays Knob, Kentucky 40829 has applied for a major revision to an existing surface coal processing facility, loadout and reclamation operation located 0.5 miles southeast of the community of Grays Knob in Harlan County Kentucky. The major revision will add 0 acres of surface disturbance and will underlie an additional 0 acres making a total area of 34.83 acres within the revised permit boundary.The proposed major revision area is approximately 0.4 miles east from US Highway 421 junction with county road 2428 and is located on the Martins Fork of the Cumberland River. The latitude is 36o 48’ 11". The longitude is 83o 18’ 37". The proposed major revision area is located on the Harlan U.S.G.S. 7 1/2-minute quadrangle maps.The surface area to be affected by the major revision is owned by Kentucky River Properties, LLC. and Grand Natural Resources, LLC. The major revision will not underlie any property as no underground acreage is permitted.The major revision proposes to change the post mining land use for the entire permit area. We are proposing to return the entire surface area permitted to a post mining land use of industrial commercial.
